The local primary school and nursery provision.
The nursery runs morning and afternoon sessions open for children in Maddiston and Rumford aged 3 1/2 to 5. The school also has an additional support needs unit called the Timezone. |
The family centre provides early years provision for 2 to 3 year olds.
Please contact the family centre to check eligibility. As well as early years provision the Family Centre provide a number of drop in sessions for parents. |
Playgroups
There are currently no playgoups in Maddiston or Rumford but 3 playgroups locally that are open to children aged 3 from the community.
Some may also offer 2 year old provision.

English for speakers of other languages (ESOL)

Groups for adults who do not speak English as their first language, and would like help with reading, writing, listening and speaking English. Sessions are free and are run by tutors and volunteers in community centres throughout Falkirk.
Topics include Survival English, SQA accreditation, Citizenship, Workplace English and Health topics. Family classes are also available. This service is not currently available at Maddiston Community Centre but contact the ESOL team to find the nearest class. |
A 10 week course run by Falkirk Council CLD that provides the opportunity to look at where you want to be in the future and find strategies to get you there. A general programme includes confidence building, dealing with stress, problem solving and future planning.

Employability and Job Clubs

The jobs clubs are open to anyone unemployed and looking for support to help them into work. Covering skills that you need to find a job such as CV writing and interview skills.
These courses run at various community centres throughout the area. There is currently a class running at Maddiston Community Centre on a Wednesday morning. |

The Credit Union is a savings scheme owned by its members and gives access to low cost loans.
You can pay in at local collection points, pay point card, standing order or even directly from payroll. You can save as little or as much as you want as often as you want and can withdraw money at the local collection points, at the main office in Grangemouth or by BACS into your bank account. Maximum savings is £16000 |

The local library is based in Polmont just along from the Meadowbank Health Centre.
As well as book lending services, the library has a PS4 and Wii, IT suite, printing and copying facilities, free internet services and various groups. For those unable to get to the library due to illness, disability or because they are a carer, Falkirk Community Trust offer a home lending service which will delivery books to your home. |
