Dial a journey provides a transport service for people with mobility issues which prevents them using conventional public transport. Once you have signed up to join the scheme you can book transport in advance.
Other services include Shop Mobility which can loan scooters or wheelchairs to make getting around the shops easier. To register for these services or for more information check out their website. |
A volunteer run service for cancer patients registered at the Meadowbank Medical Practices which works with the practices to provide transport to and from appointment and treatment sessions.

Braveheart provides self-management support groups and a led walking programme to adults with or at risk of developing long term health problems, particularly coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
The nearest meeting is held on a Monday at 10am by Aldi in Polmont and do a 1 hour brisk walk or 30 min slow walk around the area. Walks are free and open to everyone, just turn up! Some walks are supported by Forth Valley Sensory Centre & RNIB. Active Forth
Active Forth is the physical activity referral scheme for Falkirk District. It is a scheme where your GP, physiotherapist, rehabilitation specialist or other medical professional can refer you to take part in a structured physical activity programme for 12 weeks. Active Forth operates from the Grangemouth Sports Complex, Bo'ness Recreation Centre and the Mariner Leisure Centre. The aim of the scheme is to give you an opportunity to become more active and gain the benefits of a healthier lifestyle. |

Falkirk Council provide a catering service which delivers hot meals to people who are housebound or unable to cook for themselves due to health problems,
A standard meal is £3.40 for 2 courses and is delivered straight to your door. This scheme works on referrals only, if you think you require this service please contact the local social work team who can assess eligibility. |
Self Directed Support can help you live more independently by giving you choice, control, and flexibility over your support. It means that you may be able to get a cash payment and choose how to spend it on social care services. You can also work with SDS on choosing and arranging these services.
How do I get Self Directed Support? You will need to have a social work assessment. This will tell you if you meet the conditions for getting care and support from SDS. If you do meet these conditions, they will tell you how much it will cost to provide the services you need and help plan your support If you can't get Self Directed Support, you will be informed when once assessed. Please contact your local Social Work office if you haven’t already had an assessment and you think you need one. |

The Community Safety Team consists of Officers and Wardens; they patrol the Falkirk Council area between 7am and 10pm Monday to Saturday.
The team are recognisable by their distinctively marked vehicles and black uniform. They wear personal CCTV cameras, have access to vehicles and mountain bikes and can be approached by any member of the public looking for help. The Community Safety Team's main duties involve developing close links between communities and dealing with Antisocial Behaviour. They can offer advice on local services, housing and environmental issues. Community Safety Officers have responsibility for control of dogs, dog fouling, litter and fly tipping. They can issue Dog Control Notices, Warning Letters and Fixed Penalty Notices. |
